Send the Adapter With Your Laptop - Bring Your Adapter With You When You Come to Check Your Laptop In For Service : When you ship us your laptop, or bring it in for service or repair, always include the power adapter. If we need to replace your power jack, or diagnose a power problem, we will need the adapter to make sure it fits, and works properly after your laptop has been repaired.
The hole in the tip of many adapters wears out over time, becomes larger, and does not properly connect to, and power laptops. The cord that connects the adapter to the laptop often become frayed, and may begin shorting out, and this also causes intermittant laptop power problems.
If we have the adapter we can test it thoroughly. Using your adapter to test your laptop with, once repairs have been completed, we can be more certain your laptop will work properly when you get it back, or come in and pick it up. Adapters go bad constantly, and cause all sorts of laptop problems when they begin to fail short out, and get too weak to run a laptop and charge the battery at the same time.
Laptop Power Adapters have been known to even put out the right voltage when checked, but do not have enough power to run a laptop because it has failed. Testing adapters may confirm an adapter is bad, but may you not be able to confirm it is good.
